Legobien, Charles
Legobien, Charles a French Jesuit, was born at St. Malo in 1653; in 1671 he entered the society of Jesus; shortly after taught at Tours; then removed to Paris, where he became first secretary, and afterwards superintendent, of the missions of his order to China. He published, about 1702, a collection of letters from missionaries in China, etc., entitled Lettres Edifantes et Curieuses, Ecrites des Missions Etrangeres. He died March 5, 1708, at Paris.
