Laing, John
Laing, John a Scotch prelate, was first rector of Tannadice, in the shire of Angus, and Linlithgow, and was next preferred to the office of high treasurer in 1465, which office he held until 1468, at which time he was made lord-register, and about the same time enjoyed the rectories of Suthet and Newlands. He was promoted to the episcopal see of Glasgow in 1474; was made lord high chancellor in 1482, and died January 11, 1482-83. See Keith, Scottish Bishops, page 253.
