Joshebbassebeth

Jo'sheb-bas'sebeth (Heb. Yosheb'-bash-She'beth, ישֶׁב בִּשֶּׂבֶת sitting in the session, i.e. council; Sept. Ι᾿εβοσθέ; Vulg. sedens in cathedra; Auth. Vers. "that sat in the seat"), the chief of David's three principal heroes (2Sa 23:8); called in the parallel passage (1Ch 11:11) JASHOBEAM SEE JASHOBEAM (q.v.).
