Irshemesh

Ir-she'mesh (Heb. id. עַיר שֶׁמֶשׁ, in pause שׁ מֶשׁ עַיר, city of the sun; Sept. πόλις Σάμες, Vulg. Hirsemes, id est civitas solis), a town on the border of Dan, mentioned between Eshtaol and Shaalabbin (Jos 19:41); probably the same as the BETH-SHEMIESH SEE BETH-SHEMIESH (q.v.) of Jos 15:10.
