Ingen a hero-god of Japan, was a native of China, who lived about 1650. He was a zealous Buddhist, and was looked upon as an illustrious saint. But he was more especially venerated because, in answer to a kito, or special prayer which he offered, a plentiful rain had fallen in a time of drought.
