Hughes, Jabez
Hughes, Jabez an English divine, born in 1685, was educated at Cambridge University, and afterwards became fellow of Jesus College. He is chiefly known as the editor of Chrysostom's treatise περὶ ἱερωσύνης or On the Priesthood (Cambr. 1710, 8vo; 2nd edit. in Greek and Latin, with notes and a preliminary dissertation against the pretended Rights of the Church etc., 1712, 8vo).
