Homes or Holmes, Nathaniel A learned English divine, was for a time incumbent of the living of St. Mary Staining, London, but was ejected for nonconformity in 1662. He died in 1678. His publications, now become rare, include The Resurrection Revealed (London 1654, fol.; 2nd ed. 1833, 8vo) — The Resurrection Revealed raised above Doubts and Difficulties, in ten Exercitations (London, 1661, folio) — A Continuation of the Histories of Foreign Martyrs from the Reign of Queen Elizabeth to these Times (in Fox's Acts and Monuments, ed. 1684, 3:865) — The New World, or the New Reformed Church discovered out of 2 Peter 3:13 (London, 1641, 4to).
