Holiness, Beauty of
Holiness, Beauty Of is a phrase occurring several times in the English Bible (always as a translation of the Heb. hadrath' ko'desh, הִדרִת קֹדַשׁ , ornament of sanctity, 1Ch 15:29; 2Ch 20:21; Ps 29:2; Ps 116:9; in the plur. of the cognate term הָדָר, hadda, Ps 110:3), which simply denotes splendid garments, such as are worn on festive occasions, i.q. "holiday suit," not necessarily the sacred priestly vestments, since it is usually, if not exclusively, applied to nonsacerdotal persons.
