Hermengild

Hermengild (Erminigildus),Visigoth prince of Spain, was the elder of the two sons of the Arian king, Leovigeld, by his first wife, and was made governor of Baetica on his marriage. He rebelled against his father, who finally captured him about A.D. 572, and put him to death. He is commemorated as a. saint by the Roman Church on April 13, as he had embraced the Catholic faith.
