Herbert, William, D.C.L.
an English clergyman, was born at Highclere Castle, Bucks, in 1778, and educated at Eton, and at Christ Church and Merton Colleges, Oxford. He took holy orders in 1814, was presented to the rectory of Spofforth, appointed dean of Manchester in 1840, and died in 1847.
