Hen (3)

Hen a name for spirits among the Lao-Tseu, in China. They are the souls of those who are neither good nor evil. They are generally friendly to man, and though invisible, they perform many good offices for him. The emperor puts his country under their protection, and he deposes or degrades them if they neglect their duty.
