Gonzaga, Pirro De
Gonzaga, Pirro de an Italian cardinal, was born in the second part of the 15th century. He contributed to the deliverance of pope Clement VII, who had been kept in prison by Charles V. The popes rewarded him by appointing him a cardinal, and archbishop of Modena in 1527. He died in 1529. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
