Germanus (2)

Germanus a Scotch prelate, was probably the first bishop of the Isles, and was appointed by St. Patrick, the apostle of Ireland, in 447. To him the cathedral church of the Isle of Man, within the precincts of Peel Castle, is dedicated. See Keith, Scottish Bishops, page 295.
