Geier Martin, Dd

Geier Martin, D.D., a German theologian, was born at Leipsic in 1614, became court-preacher at Dresden in 1656, professor of theology at Leipsic in 1661, and died at Freiburg in 1680. Among his writings are commentaries on the Psalms, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastes, which, with some valuable theological treatises, are collected in his Opera omnia qua Latine edita sunt (Amst. 1695, 2 volumes, fol.). His commentary on the Psalms has been often published separately, and is still esteemed.
