Gauthier, Jean Baptiste
Gauthier, Jean Baptiste a French theologian, was born at Louviers in 1685. He was for a long time connected with Colbert, bishop of Montpelier, whose instructions and mandates he published. After the death of that prelate he settled at Paris. He died October 30, 1755, near Gaillon, leaving a large number of works, directed especially against the Jesuits and infidels. See Hoefer, Nouv.
