Gabata (or Gabbatha)

properly a bowl; hence a pensile lamp of similar form, for a church, made of different metals-gold, silver, brass, and electrum. These lamps were frequently embossed, or decorated in bass-relief, and ornamented with lilies, heads of gryphons or lions, or even fashioned in the form of these animals.
