Frothaire
Frothaire a French prelate, was born in the second part of the 8th century. He Was educated at the monastery of Garze, became abbot of St. Evre, at Toul, and bishop of that city in 813. During the revolt of Bernard, he proved himself faithful to the cause of Louis le Debonnaire, and took an important part in several councils which judged the rebel bishops. He left twenty-one letters, which were published by Andrl Duchesne, in his Historiae Francorum Scriptores, 2. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
