Franchini Giovanni

Franchini. Giovanni an eminent Italian ecclesiastical historian, was born at Modena, December 28, 1633. Having entered the order-of the Minorites, he became theologian to Francis II, duke of Modena. He died in his native city, April 4, 1695, leaving several works on the history of his order, for which see Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
