Fournier (Baron De La Contamine), Marie Nicolas
Fournier (baron de la Contamine), Marie Nicolas a French prelate, was born at Gex (Ain), December 27, 1760; educated in Paris; became professor of theology at Orleans; after the Revolution went to Paris as a preacher; was appointed (1805) chaplain, afterwards almoner to the emperor, and bishop of Montpellier, July 15, 1806; was nominated, in 1817, for the archbishopric of Navarre, but was not confirmed, and died at Montpellier, December 29, 1834.
