Fodder

Fodder (בּלַיל, belil', Job 6:5; Job 24:6; Isa 30:24). In the second passage in Job this word is rendered in our version "corn;" the margin gives "mingled corn or dredge;" in that of Isaiah it is rendered "provender." The word properly signifies a mixture, a medley. Gesenius (Heb. Lex.) says, "The two latter passages are most clearly understood by a reference to the Roman

farrago (Pliny, Hist. Nat.), consisting of barley or oats, mixed with vetches and beans, which. were sown and reaped together."
