Fagan, Luke, D.D.

an Irish prelate. was translated from the diocese of Meath to the see of Dublin in 1729. In 1733, probably the last of Dr. Fagan's life, the act was passed (7 Geo. II, c. 6) whereby converts from the Roman Catholic faith, whose wives were of that persuasion, or whose children were educated in it, were prohibited, under severe penalties, from exercising the office of justices of the peace.
