Englert, Johann
Englert, Johann a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born at Schweinfurt, December 29, 1688. He studied at Leipsic, was in 1713 preacher at Oberdorf, and in 1715 sub-deacon at his native place. In 1725 he was appointed professor of theology and of Hebrew at the gymnasium there, and in 1732 he succeeded his father, Johann Matthbus (q.v.), as pastor primarius and inspector of the gymnasium, and died February 25, 1751.
