Embla

Embla in Norse mythology, was the first, woman created by the Asas, from a tree- trunk (Embla, "the pine," while Ask, "the ash," was the name of the first man). She was endowed with feeling, motion, spirit, life, the senses of hearing and seeing, and was gifted with the power of speech. By Ask, her husband, she became mother of the human race.
