Ellis, Clement
Ellis, Clement an English divine, was born in 1630, near Penrith, in Cumberland, and was educated at Oxford. In 1693 he was appointed a prebendary of Southwell. He died in 1700. He published a number of sermons and theological treatises (1661-1700), and some were issued after his death: Discourse on the Parable, with an Account of his Life and Writings (1704, 8vo): — The Scripture Catechist.
