Effrontes

Effrontes an obscure Transylvanian sect of the sixteenth century, who not only denied the Holy Ghost, but, among other fooleries, cut their foreheads and anointed them with oil as a mode of initiation. Hence their name "exfrons" — out of the brow (Eadie, Eccl. Cyclop. s.v.).
