Duchal, James, Dd, an Independent divine, was born in Ireland in 1697, and was educated at the University of Glasgow. He served an Independent congregation at Cambridge for ten years, and afterwards another at Dublin, where he died in 1761. He published Ten Sermons; Presumptive Arguments for the Truth of the Christian Religion (London 1753, 8vo); also (posthumous) Sermons (London, 1765, 3 volumes, 8vo). — Darling, Cyclopedia Bibliographica, 1:968.
