Dosi, Girolamo
Dosi, Girolamo a distinguished Italian architect, was born at Carpi in 1695, instructed in the school of Fontana, where he soon attained distinction, and was appointed state architect by Clement XII. Among his best works are the cathedrals of Albano and Velletri, and the basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. He died at Carpi in 1775. See Spooner, Biog. Hist. of the Fine Arts, s.v.; Hoefer, Nouv.
