Doc (Lat Docceus), Jean

Doc (Lat. Docceus), Jean a French prelate, was a Benedictine monk of the abbey of Saint-Denis, near Paris, also doctor of theology and canonical law, as well as an excellent preacher. He was elevated to the dignity of a grand-prior of Saint-Denis, and in 1557 was placed in the episcopal see of Laon.
