Diruk

Diruk an Armenian theologian, was the son of Moses Koun, of the city of Zarishat, in the province of Vanant, and was born about the end of the 4th century. He was one of the eminent writers and scholars of the school founded by Mesrob. He entered into sacred orders, and gained a great reputation by his works and his zeal for patriotic religion, having deeply studied the Syriac, Greek, and Latin languages. He died about the year 460, leaving a number of works, among which may be cited a life of the patriarch Sahak, homilies, and also his works on the Holy Scriptures. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog.
