Diopetes
Diopetes (διοπετής, Jove-fallen, "that fell down from Jupiter"), an epithet applied to the great image of Diana at Ephesus (Ac 19:34). It is applied in the same way by heathen writers (e.g. ἄγαλμα διοπετές, Herodian. 1:11; compare Plutarch, Numa, 13; Eurip. Iph. 86-88; see Wetstein, Kuinol in loc.). SEE DIANA.
