Deti, Giovanni Battista
Deti, Giovanni Battista an Italian ecclesiastic, was born at, Florence in 1581. He was a kinsman to Clement VIII, who sent him to the gymnasium at Rome. Deti distinguished himself by his studies and learning, so that at the age of seventeen years he was made a cardinal. Some time after he was appointed dean of the sacred college. He died in 1630, leaving Relatio Facta in Consistorio Coram Urbano VIII, etc., which was printed in the collection of the Bollandists. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Gienerale, s.v.
