Davis, Eliel
Davis, Eliel an English Baptist minister, was born at Folkestone, Kent, June 5, 1803. At nineteen years of age he went to London as a draper's assistant, and joined the Church under Joseph Toimey. He began to preach in the villages, and entered Stepney College in 1826. In 1828 he became a pastor in the Isle of Wight; in 1834 removed to Lambeth; in 1841 to Eve, in Suffolk; in 1842 to St. Ives, where he suddenly died, March 29, 1849. See (Lond.)
