Davie, John
Davie, John a Scotch clergyman, intruded in the living at Strickathrow in 1701, and again in November 1715, "coming in with near eighty men under arms, with beating drums and flying colors, and preached a little." He continued till February 1716, and was deposed in October following, at which time he was factor to James, earl of Southesk. See Fasti Eccles. Scoticanae, 3:850.
