Daures, Louis
Daures, Louis a French theologian, was born at Milhau (Rouergue) in 1655. He became a Dominican, went to Paris, and founded there the community of penitence called St. Valere, in the suburb. of St. Germain, with the object of gathering together young girls who had been led into debauchery. He died there, May 10, 1728, leaving L'Eglise Protestante Detriuite par Elle Meme (Paris, 1689, 12mo). See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale, s.v.
