Daria

Daria wife of Nicander, martyr in Moesia, under Maximus, in the persecution of Galerius, bravely encouraged her husband to martyrdom; and when the judge sneeringly said that she only wanted another husband, she offered to die first. She was sent to prison, but was released before her husband's death, and was present. See Smith, Diet. of Christ. Biog. s.v.
