Danforth, John

Danforth, John a Congregational minister, son of Reverend Samuel Danforth, Sr., was born November 5, 1660. He graduated at Harvard College in 1677; was ordained the seventh minister of the Church in Dorchester, June 28, 1682, and occupied that position until his death, May 26, 1730. He left several published discourses, among them two Sermons on the Earthquake in 1727. (J.C.S.)
