Cushing, Jonathan Peter
Cushing, Jonathan Peter a Presbyterian minister, was born at Rochester, N.H., March 12, 1793. He studied at Phillips Academy, Exeter; graduated from Dartmouth College in 1817; went to Virginia, and became connected with Hampden-Sidney College, first as a tutor, then as a professor, and after the death of Dr. Hodge, in 1820, as president, in which office he continued until the close of his life, April 25, 1835.
