Crane, William Carey, D.D., LL.D.

a Baptist minister and educator, was born at Richmond, Virginia, March 17, 1816. He graduated from Columbian College, D.C.; was converted in 1832, and ordained in 1838; was pastor successively at Montgomery, Alabama, Columbus, Vicksburg, and Yazoo City, Missouri, from 1839 to 1851; in 1863 president of Baylor University, Texas, and died February 26,1885.
