Craig, Lewis
Craig, Lewis a Baptist minister, was born in Orange County, Virginia, about 1737, and converted in 1765. Being arrested June 4, 1768, while engaged in public worship, and thrown into jail at Fredericksburg, he preached to crowds of people through the prison bars. In 1770 he became pastor of the Upper Spottsylvania Church. In 1771 he was again imprisoned three months. After preaching in several places in Kentucky, he was pastor of South Elkhorn Church about nine years. In 1792 he moved to Bracken County, Kentucky, in which he organized several churches.
