Cortese (or Cortesi; Fr Courtois), Giacomo
Cortese (or Cortesi; Fr. Courtois), Giacomo (or Jacopo, called II Borgognone), a Jesuit and painter, was born at St. Hippolyte, in Franche-Comte, in 1621. At the age of fifteen he visited Milan, and afterwards Rome, where he painted a picture of Magdalene at
