Coquerel, Charles Augustin

Coquerel, Charles Augustin brother of the preceding, was born in Paris, April 17, 1797. He studied theology at Montauban, but after his return to Paris he also studied medicine and other sciences. He was one of the founders of the Archives du Christianisme and of the Annales Protestantes in 1819, and in 1825 of the Revue Protestante. He also published Histoire des Eglises du Desert (Paris, 1841; Germ. transl. by Schilling, Stuttgart, 1846). He died February 1, 1851.
