Coots, Charles a Scotch clergyman, held a bursary of theology at Glasgow University in 1698; was licensed to preach in 1702; called to the living at Govan in 1711;
ordained in 1712; was chaplain in the royal army at Sterling in 1715, and died December 31, 1745. See Fasti Eccles. Scoticanae, 2:69.
