Cooke, Albert, A.B.

an English Congregational minister, was born at Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, about 1842. He was educated at Alleyne's Grammar-school and at Lancashire Independent College. On leaving college, in June 1866, he became pastor of the Church at Newport, Shropshire. In June 1869, he accepted the pastorate at Acock's Green, Birmingham. In 1874 he resigned this charge to take a school at Frome, in the, hope that a more southern climate might repair his, shattered health. He died July 30, 1879. See (Lond.), Cong.
