Conwell, Henry a Roman Catholic prelate, was born in Ireland, made bishop of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1820, and died in that city, April 21, 1842. See De Courcy and Shea, Hist. of the Catholic Church in the U.S. page 125.
