Cononites
Cononites followers of Conon, bishop of Tarsus, in Cilicia, in the 6th century, a disciple of Johannes Philoponus:(q.v.). Conon differed from Philoponus in the doctrine of the resurrection, maintaining that the dissolution of the body after death affected only the form, not the matter of the body, and that at the resurrection the soul was reunited with the same, though transformed body. — Wetzer u. Welte, Kirchen-Lex. 2:798. SEE JOHANNES PHILOPONUS; TRITHEISM.
