Columbus, Jonas

Columbus, Jonas a Swedish Protestant theologian, became pastor of Dalecarlia, made a great effort to impress with dignity the acts of worship in that province, and especially the music in the churches. He died in 1669, leaving some poems.

His son SAMUEL died July 8, 1679. He was also a poet, and a collection of his works was published by J. Renstierna in 1687. See Hoefer, Nouv. Biog. Generale.
