Colgan, Thomas
Colgan, Thomas a missionary of the Church of England, came to America in 1726 to take charge of the Church in Rye, N.Y., under the direction of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts; but afterwards became assistant to the Reverend William Vesey, rector of Trinity Church, New York city, and remained in that position until 1732, when he became minister of the Church in Jamaica, Long Island.
