Coit, Joseph Howland, D.D.

a Protestant Episcopal clergyman, was born in New York City, November 3, 1802. He graduated from Columbia College in 1820; studied two years thereafter in Princeton Theological Seminary; was ordained deacon in 1825; spent nearly the whole of his ministerial life, after 1832, as rector of Trinity Church, Plattsburgh, N.Y., and died there, October 1, 1866.
