Cobb, Archibald Parritt

Cobb, Archibald Parritt a Presbyterian minister, was born at Parsippany, Morris County, N.J., November 9, 1821. He prepared for college at home, entered the sophomore class at Princeton, from which he graduated in 1850; then from the Princeton Theological Seminary in 1853, remaining there one year longer as tutor. He was licensed to preach in Montclair, April 20, 1853, and was ordained April 19, 1854, when he became a stated supply in the Witherspoon (colored) Presbyterian Church at Princeton. The following year he was installed pastor. of the South Street Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, where he remained six years, and was then called to the pastorate of the Tennent Church, Freehold, N.J., where he remained until the close of his life, February 2, 1881.
