Chetwynd, John
Chetwynd, John, an English clergyman, was born at Banwell, SomersetShire, in 1623, and admitted commoner of Exeter College, Oxford, in ,1638, where he took his master's degree in 1648. He was one of the joint pastors of St. Cuthbert, in Wells, afterwards became vicar of the Tepple, in Bristol,; one of the city lecturers, and a prebendary of the cathedral. He died Dec. 30, 1692. Besides some Sermons, he published a curious book, entitled Anthologia Historica, containing fourteen centuries of memorable occurrences, etc. (Lond. 1674, 8vo).
